Course overview

Cloud decisions are no longer made only by engineers. Product owners, managers, consultants and sales teams are expected to understand what a cloud platform offers and how it changes the way a business works. This one-day course gives you that understanding for Google Cloud, without assuming a technical background.

The day follows the themes of the Cloud Digital Leader exam. We begin with digital transformation: why organisations move to the cloud, the shift from capital to operational spending and how cloud changes ways of working. We then look at data, from databases and data warehouses to analytics with BigQuery, before moving to artificial intelligence and machine learning, including how generative AI and pre-trained APIs are used responsibly in business.

The afternoon covers infrastructure and application modernisation — virtual machines, containers, serverless and APIs — then trust and security, including shared responsibility, identity, data protection and compliance. We finish with scaling and operating in the cloud: reliability, monitoring, cost management and sustainability.

Short console demonstrations make the services concrete, and every topic ends with practice questions so you can check understanding as you go.
