Why Google Cloud?

Why Google Cloud?

Google Cloud is known for its strength in data analytics, machine learning and Kubernetes — Kubernetes itself began at Google. Teams that run BigQuery, Google Kubernetes Engine or Vertex AI need people who understand the platform end to end, and multi-cloud organisations increasingly want engineers who can work across more than one provider. Adding Google Cloud to existing AWS or Azure skills is a practical way to stand out.

Roles this path supports

  • Business and technical leaders who need to discuss cloud strategy — Cloud Digital Leader.
  • Cloud engineers who deploy and operate workloads — Associate Cloud Engineer.
  • Cloud architects designing secure, scalable systems — Professional Cloud Architect.
  • Data engineers building pipelines and analytics platforms — Professional Data Engineer.
  • Security engineers protecting Google Cloud environments — Professional Cloud Security Engineer.

How to choose

Cloud Digital Leader is a non-technical foundation, ideal for managers, pre-sales and anyone who needs to understand what Google Cloud offers and why. Associate Cloud Engineer is the right starting point for hands-on engineers: it tests your ability to set up projects, configure IAM, deploy compute and storage, and use the gcloud command line. Once you have practical experience, the Professional certifications go deeper into design and specialist areas.

Google recommends industry and platform experience before the Professional exams. Our trainers combine design case studies with hands-on labs so you understand the reasoning behind each architecture choice, not just the console steps.

Google Cloud exams lean heavily on scenarios. Rather than asking you to recall a setting, they describe a business with particular constraints — data residency, cost, latency, compliance or a migration deadline — and ask which design fits best. That is why our sessions spend as much time discussing requirements and trade-offs as they do on configuration, and why we encourage you to build small projects of your own between classes.

If you already hold an AWS or Azure certification, tell us when you enrol. Your trainer can map familiar services to their Google Cloud equivalents and point out the differences that most often trip up experienced engineers, such as the project-based resource hierarchy and global VPC networking.

Exam guides are updated periodically. Confirm the current version on the Google Cloud certification website before booking.

Google Cloud FAQs

Do I need Cloud Digital Leader before Associate Cloud Engineer?

No. Cloud Digital Leader is designed for a broad audience. Engineers can go straight to Associate Cloud Engineer.

I already know AWS or Azure. How hard is Google Cloud?

Core concepts carry over, but the resource hierarchy, IAM model and networking differ in important ways. Experienced cloud engineers usually adapt quickly with focused labs.

Which Professional certification should I take first?

Professional Cloud Architect is the most general. Choose Data Engineer or Cloud Security Engineer if your role is clearly focused on data or security.

Is there hands-on practice in the course?

Yes. Each batch includes guided labs in Google Cloud, and your trainer explains how to manage free trial credits and avoid unexpected costs.
