  • Exam-style practice

Timed hands-on tasks mirror the way the performance-based exam works.

Course overview

Red Hat Enterprise Linux runs a large share of the servers in banks, telecoms, government and enterprise data centres across India and the Gulf. RHCSA is the credential employers use to check that you can administer it properly. Because the exam is entirely hands-on, this five-day course is built around practical tasks on real RHEL systems.

Days one and two build core skills: the shell, files and permissions, text processing, users and groups, processes, scheduled jobs, software management with DNF, systemd services and logging. You will also write simple shell scripts to automate routine work.

Day three focuses on storage — partitions, logical volumes, swap, file systems, persistent mounts and network file systems with autofs. Day four covers networking, firewall configuration, SSH, time synchronisation, SELinux contexts and booleans, and troubleshooting the boot process, including resetting the root password.

Day five covers containers on RHEL with Podman, a full review and a timed practice set in the style of the EX200 exam, with a debrief on technique and verification.

This course is aligned to the Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) exam, EX200. Ace Skills is not a Red Hat training partner and does not use official courseware. Please confirm the current exam objectives and RHEL version on the Red Hat website before booking.

Frequently asked questions

Is the RHCSA exam hands-on?

Yes. EX200 is performance-based: you complete real administration tasks on live systems rather than answering multiple-choice questions.

Which RHEL version is used?

We teach on the RHEL version that matches the current exam and point out differences from older releases you may meet at work.

Is this an official Red Hat course?

No. It is an independent Ace Skills course aligned to the EX200 objectives; it does not use Red Hat courseware.

What comes after RHCSA?

Most learners continue to RHCE, which focuses on automation with Ansible.

Can I practise after the course?

Yes. We share instructions for building a free practice lab so you can keep rehearsing tasks.
