Course overview

At professional level, AWS architecture is less about single services and more about organisations: dozens of accounts, hybrid networks, compliance requirements, legacy estates and teams with different priorities. The SAP-C02 exam reflects this with long scenarios where several answers would work, but only one best fits every constraint. This four-day course is designed to build that judgement.

Day one covers design for organisational complexity: AWS Organizations and Control Tower, network topologies with Transit Gateway and Direct Connect, centralised security and identity, and cost visibility across accounts. Day two focuses on designing new solutions, with deployment strategies, business continuity, performance and security built into the design rather than added later. Day three addresses continuous improvement of existing solutions: operational excellence, reliability, performance and cost reviews. Day four is dedicated to migration and modernisation, from discovery and planning to moving databases and refactoring towards containers and serverless.

Each day mixes whiteboard design sessions with labs. You will build a landing zone with guardrails, connect VPCs through a Transit Gateway, implement cross-Region failover and run a database migration. The trainer uses realistic case scenarios, so you practise defending an architecture, not just recalling a service.

Exam practice runs throughout, with a dedicated session on managing time across long questions. This course is aligned to the SAP-C02 exam and prepares you for it; confirm the current exam guide on the AWS Certification site before booking.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need the associate certification first?

AWS does not require it, but we strongly recommend associate-level knowledge and real project experience before this course.

Why is this exam considered difficult?

Questions are long and several answers are technically valid. The course trains you to find the constraint that makes one answer the best fit.

How long should I prepare after the course?

Most learners spend six to eight weeks revising alongside work, focusing on practice scenarios and weak domains.

Will the course help with real migration projects?

Yes. The migration day uses planning templates and tooling that apply directly to project work.

Can you run this for an architecture team?

Yes. Corporate batches can use your organisation’s account structure and migration backlog as case material.
