Course overview

Management accounting turns the postings of a business into decisions: which products make money, which departments overspend and where margins leak. In SAP S/4HANA, controlling and financial accounting share the Universal Journal, which changes how CO is configured and reported. This five-day course teaches that integrated approach hands-on.

Day one covers the controlling area, its assignment to company codes, cost elements as GL accounts, versions and number ranges. Day two moves to overhead management: cost centre hierarchies, activity types, statistical key figures, planning, and periodic allocations through assessment and distribution cycles. You will also work with internal orders for marketing campaigns and maintenance jobs, including budgets and settlement.

Day three introduces profit centre accounting and the link to segment reporting. Day four is dedicated to product costing: costing variants, overhead costing sheets, material cost estimates with quantity structure, cost component structures and marking and releasing standard prices. You will then follow a production order through work in process, variance calculation and settlement.

Day five focuses on profitability: margin analysis in S/4HANA, characteristics and value fields in context, derivation, and how revenue and cost of goods sold flow from billing into profitability reports. It closes with period-end controlling and an exam readiness session.

This course is aligned to the SAP Certified Associate exam in SAP S/4HANA management accounting (base code C_TS4CO). Ace Skills is not an SAP partner and does not use official SAP courseware. Exam codes carry a release suffix, so please confirm the current code on SAP Learning before booking.
