Course overview

Quality failures are expensive, and in regulated sectors such as pharmaceuticals, automotive and food they can stop a business altogether. SAP S/4HANA Quality Management builds inspections and quality records directly into logistics, so goods are checked at the right moments and every decision is traceable. This three-day course teaches the component hands-on.

Day one covers the foundations: QM in the logistics landscape, QM views in the material master, inspection types and inspection setup, and the master data for inspection planning — master inspection characteristics, inspection methods, catalogues, sampling procedures and dynamic modification.

Day two applies that master data to real processes. You will build inspection plans, then trigger inspection lots in procurement at goods receipt and in production for in-process and final inspection. You will record results, record defects and make usage decisions that post stock to the right place.

Day three looks at problem handling and compliance: quality notifications for customer complaints, vendor complaints and internal problems, tasks and follow-up actions, quality certificates for procurement and delivery, quality info records and vendor evaluation links, and the reporting apps used to monitor quality performance.

There is currently no SAP associate certification for Quality Management that we have been able to confirm, so this course runs without an exam and is focused on practical skills. If SAP introduces a QM exam, we will update the course and tell enrolled learners.
