Why Red Hat, Linux & VMware?
Why Linux and virtualisation?
Linux runs most servers, cloud instances and containers, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux is widely used in banks, telecoms, government and large enterprises. Virtualisation platforms such as VMware vSphere still host a large share of on-premises workloads, and many organisations are modernising towards containers with OpenShift. Engineers who understand all three can support both today’s infrastructure and the move to cloud-native platforms.
Roles and certifications
- Linux system administrator — RHCSA covers users, storage, networking, services, SELinux and troubleshooting.
- Automation engineer — RHCE focuses on automating administration with Ansible.
- Platform engineer — OpenShift fundamentals for deploying and managing containerised applications.
- Virtualisation administrator — vSphere installation, configuration and management.
How to choose
RHCSA is the foundation of the Red Hat track and is a strong first certification for anyone who works with Linux servers. Red Hat exams are performance-based, so you must complete real tasks on live systems — there is no way to pass on theory alone. Once you are comfortable as an administrator, RHCE teaches you to automate that work with Ansible. OpenShift training is a natural next step if your organisation runs containers on Red Hat platforms.
VMware skills remain relevant for data centre and private cloud roles. The certification programme has changed since VMware became part of Broadcom, so we review requirements before every batch and advise you on the current route.
Linux skills also underpin almost every other technical path on this site. Kubernetes administrators, cloud engineers, security analysts and data engineers all spend time at a Linux shell, so time invested here pays off widely. Our trainers focus on building confident, repeatable command-line habits — reading man pages, checking logs, verifying changes and recovering from mistakes — that serve you well in exams and on the job.
Our courses are aligned to the published Red Hat and VMware objectives. Confirm current exam details on the Red Hat and Broadcom websites before booking.
Red Hat, Linux & VMware FAQs
Is RHCSA hard for beginners?
It is practical and time-bound, so regular command-line practice is essential. Learners with no Linux background may benefit from some basic Linux study first.
Do I need RHCSA before RHCE?
Red Hat has required RHCSA to earn RHCE. Check the current rules on the Red Hat website.
Will I have lab access?
Yes. Each batch includes lab exercises on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and your trainer will help you build a practice environment at home.
Is VMware still worth learning?
Many organisations continue to run vSphere for on-premises and private cloud workloads. If your current or target employer uses it, the skills are directly relevant.
