PMI-ACP® – Agile Certified Practitioner

Agile teams rarely follow one framework exactly. They borrow from Scrum, Kanban, Lean and Extreme Programming, and they adapt as they learn. The PMI-ACP certification recognises practitioners who understand this wider toolkit and can apply it with the right mindset. This three-day course is aligned to the PMI-ACP exam and focuses on practical application.

Day one sets out the agile mindset: values and principles, the reasons behind them, and leadership practices such as servant leadership, psychological safety and team empowerment. Day two covers product: understanding customers, building and refining backlogs, prioritisation techniques, estimation, release planning and measuring value. Day three is about delivery: iterations and flow, Kanban metrics, technical practices, quality, continuous improvement and scaling considerations, followed by exam preparation.

Learning is activity-based. You will run a short simulated sprint, visualise work on a Kanban board and calculate flow metrics, practise prioritisation and story splitting, and facilitate a retrospective. These activities make the exam's scenario questions easier, because you will recognise the situations they describe.

This course is aligned to the PMI-ACP exam as published by PMI, which requires agile training hours as part of eligibility. PMI has refreshed this exam recently, so confirm the current content outline, eligibility and fees on the PMI website before applying.
