Course overview

PRINCE2 is a structured, principle-based method used by governments and organisations around the world, and it is common in project roles in the UK, Europe and the Gulf. The seventh edition places more emphasis on people, sustainability, data and digital considerations, and on tailoring the method to each project. This five-day course takes you from understanding PRINCE2 7 to applying it.

Days one and two cover the essentials: the seven principles, the people aspects of project management, and the seven practices of business case, organising, plans, quality, risk, issues and progress. Day three walks through the seven processes from starting up a project to closing it, showing how management products flow between them, and ends with Foundation exam preparation. Days four and five focus on the Practitioner level: applying and tailoring the method to scenarios, analysing management products and answering the objective-testing questions used in the Practitioner exam.

Throughout the course you work on a case project. You will define its business case, design a project management team, create a product breakdown structure, set tolerances, raise and assess issues and tailor the method for a small agile delivery and for a large regulated project. These exercises build the judgement the Practitioner exam tests.

This course is aligned to the PRINCE2 7 Foundation and Practitioner exams. Ace Skills Consulting does not provide official PeopleCert courseware; confirm exam arrangements, rules and fees with PeopleCert before booking. A copy of the official PRINCE2 manual is recommended for the Practitioner exam.
