Course overview

When many agile teams work on the same solution, they need a way to align on priorities, plan together and deliver in a predictable rhythm. The Scaled Agile Framework provides one widely used approach. This two-day course introduces SAFe from a leader's perspective and prepares you for the SAFe Agilist (SA) exam.

Day one explains why business agility matters and establishes the foundations: the Lean-Agile mindset, SAFe core values and principles, the role of Lean-Agile leaders, and how teams and agile release trains are organised. Day two covers delivering value: the planning interval, PI planning and its outputs, executing and inspecting a PI, the continuous delivery pipeline, Lean portfolio management, and how to lead a SAFe implementation.

The highlight is a simulated PI planning session where participants form teams, plan features against capacity, identify dependencies and risks, and present plans for review. You will also explore value streams, discuss leadership behaviours and consider how SAFe would apply to your own organisation.

Certification is issued by Scaled Agile only when the course is delivered by a trainer licensed by Scaled Agile.
