Certified Scrum Product Owner® (CSPO)

The Product Owner decides what a Scrum team builds and why. Doing that well requires a clear product vision, a feel for customer needs, the ability to say no, and a backlog that makes priorities obvious to everyone. This two-day course develops those capabilities through exercises built around a single product.

Day one focuses on product thinking: the Product Owner accountability in Scrum, vision and product goals, understanding customers and users, defining value and outcomes, and validating assumptions before investing in features. Day two turns to execution: building and refining the product backlog, writing user stories and acceptance criteria, splitting work, prioritisation techniques, release planning and forecasting, and working with stakeholders and the development team.

You will develop a product vision, map a customer journey, build and prioritise a backlog, split large items into valuable slices, and run a sprint review with stakeholders played by other participants. Each exercise is followed by reflection on how it applies to your own product or service.

There is no separate exam for this certification. Certification is issued by Scrum Alliance only when the course is delivered by a trainer licensed by Scrum Alliance and the participant meets attendance requirements. Ace Skills Consulting confirms trainer licensing for each batch, and this page does not imply that Ace Skills Consulting is itself a Scrum Alliance partner.
